Uri, the Surgical Strike becomes one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films. The film recently hit 240 crore mark within the seven weeks of its release. According to Box Office India, the film only had its first real drop in its run on the seventh Tuesday. The film will most likely hit the 245 crore mark by the end of its run.
Uri, the Surgical Strike stars Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam and it is directed by Aditya Dhar. The film is based on the surgical strike that Indian Army conducted on Pakistan post the attacks on Uri. Vicky Kaushal stars as Major Vihaan Shergill who has lead the strike on a terrorist camp in Pakistan.
The other top domestic third week net grossers of all time are Baahubali: The Conclusion, PK and Dangal.
In the recent releases, Ajay Devgn’s slapstick comedy Total Dhamaal has done around 115 crores in 10 days. Zoya Akhtar’s critically acclaimed Gully Boy has earned around 128 crores in 18 Days. Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s romantic comedy Luka Chuppi has managed to amass 30.50 crores in 3 days. Given the current trends, domestic box office is having a good run.
Upcoming releases that may change the box office landscape are Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Badla and Akshay Kumar’s Kesari. Badla is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and is a revenge thriller. Kesari is the story of the Battle of Saragarhi where a Sikh regiment has fought against a large horde of Afghan invaders. Kesari stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra.
