Details of Pendle’s annual Iftar event announced

Details have been announced for this year’s annual Iftar event in Pendle.

The event is supported by Pendle Council and Nelson Town Council and starts from 8.45pm on Friday 31 May outside Nelson Town Hall on Market Street.

Leader of Pendle Council, Councillor Mohammed Iqbal said, “Everyone is welcome to Pendle’s annual Iftar with the community.

“Please come and invite your friends and family to this event which brings together the Pendle community.

“We will share food and conversations as many open their fasts at this time, during Ramadan.

“The event will help to raise money for Rise Support, a local charity established by Amer Ansar.

These charities include the local Air Ambulance Services fell and cave rescue organisations and The Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

“We’ll also be supporting the charities chosen by the new Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle, Councillor Ken Hartley and Councillor Jayne Mills”.
