10 fishermen rescued by an inshore patrol craft in seas off Ambalangoda

COLOMBO (News 1st) – A team of naval personnel rescued 10 fishermen stranded in the Ambalangoda seas as their vessel had capsized. A crew of an inshore patrol craft attached to the southern naval command carried out this rescue operation.

The vessel had left the Hikkaduwa fishing harbour today (May 12). The distressed fishermen were found 20 nautical miles off the Galle lighthouse.

The rescued fishermen boarded the Naval craft and were accompanied to the Galle harbour to unite them with their loved ones.
